Week 1 belt goes to Williams
Antonio Williams has been voted the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for Week 1, the NFL announced Thursday, Sep. 17. Fans voted among four nominees on Instagram and X (@NFL).
The debut numbers
Against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Sep. 13, Williams finished with:
- 4 catches on 4 targets
- 64 receiving yards
- 1 touchdown
Club Week 1 notes already had him at 4-64 with a first career TD reception (Dallas hype desk). Local reports add that the production came on a light route count (about 10 routes).
Rookie of the Week ≠ Rookie of the Year
This is the Pepsi fan-vote weekly honor. The AP Offensive Rookie of the Year is a separate media award after the season. Sport DMV is not saying Williams has won AP OROY — only that the Week 1 belt is his, and that early OROY chatter exists around a productive debut. Washington’s AP OROY shelf is covered here: ROY history.
What’s next
Sunday, Sep. 20 — at the Dallas Cowboys, 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX. Sport DMV is not inventing a Week 2 target share. Confirm the depth chart on the club board. The Commanders page is the hub.
Hero note: Commons does not yet have a clear Antonio Williams game plate in Commanders kit, so this share uses a Terry McLaurin Commanders frame for the WR room.
*Friday morning desk, Sep. 18, 2026. Pepsi Week 1 winner from the NFL/Pepsi announcement; debut line from club notes / local reports.*
