Kyrou OT winner — Caps 3-2 Bruins; preseason finale at Philly today

Final / OT — Washington 3, Boston 2

The Washington Capitals beat the Boston Bruins 3-2 in overtime on Friday, Sep. 25 at Capital One Arena (Capitals.com).

The power play ran the night. Dylan Strome scored with the man advantage late in the first (assists: Wilson, Dubois). Tom Wilson added another PP goal early in the second. Boston’s Morgan Geekie and David Pastrnak tied it in the third before Jordan Kyrou ended it — OT power-play winner at 0:11, from Jakob Chychrun, with Tuch screening. Washington finished 3-for-3 on the power play.

Caps goaltender Logan Thompson made a late-third pad robbery on Elias Lindholm (club story) that kept the dress-rehearsal night alive long enough for OT. Washington is 2-0-1 with one exhibition left; Boston finished preseason 2-1-1.

Sport DMV read

A perfect power-play night under Cap One lights is the best dress-rehearsal tape the DMV could ask for. Close the preseason in Philly this afternoon, then watch the Monday roster deadline sort who actually opens at Carolina — the PP units that clicked Friday want those jobs.
