Tuch beats his old club in OT — Capitals 4, Sabres 3

Former Sabre, new OT hero

Capital One Arena got the ending it wanted. Alex Tuch scored twice against Buffalo — including the overtime winner with 1:18 left — and the Capitals beat the Sabres 4-3 on Saturday night (NHL.com).

Buffalo jumped out 2-0 in the first (Jack Quinn, Josh Doan). Tuch answered before the period closed. Dylan Strome scored twice in the second to put Washington ahead 3-2, then Noah Ostlund tied it early in the third. Charlie Lindgren stopped 18 for the Caps. Tuch’s OT snap from the slot, set up by Strome and Jakob Chychrun, ended it.

Next on the board: Philadelphia at Capital One Arena on Wednesday (Oct. 28), 7:30 p.m. ET. Confirm MNMT / national windows on the club board.
