Tuesday and Wednesday are the last open practices in Ashburn
How a DMV fan actually gets into BigBear.ai Performance Center this week — gates, parking, and what the team can still change overnight.

Two mornings left for the public
The season-ticket-member days in Ashburn already happened. What is left for everybody else is Tuesday, Aug. 18 and Wednesday, Aug. 19 — the last open training-camp practices at BigBear.ai Performance Center.
That is not a vibe. It is the remaining general-public window on the team’s own camp calendar. If you already claimed a ticket for one of those mornings, this is the week you use it. If you did not, the only honest move is the team’s camp page — capacity is limited, and Sport DMV is not going to pretend walk-up is a plan.
The Commanders team page is the hub here. This piece is the practical layer: how you actually get onto the grounds.
The clock, then the app
For both remaining public days, the team’s training-camp page lists:
- Parking lots open 7:00 a.m.
- Gates open 7:30 a.m.
- Practice starts 8:30 a.m. (typically 1½–2 hours)
Those times are subject to change, especially for weather. Commanders.com tells fans to use the team app for up-to-the-minute information. Do that that morning, before you sit in Loudoun traffic on a maybe.
The facility is at 21300 Coach Gibbs Drive, Ashburn. One Loudoun is about five minutes away if you need a real breakfast after, not a substitute for getting there on time.
A ticket is not a parking pass
Admission is free. You still need two things, and they are not the same object:
1. A claimed digital ticket — general-public fans were limited to a maximum of six tickets for one day. Kids count. The tickets live in the Commanders app (Tickets → My Tickets).
2. A parking pass — limited on-site parking in the Gray Lot. You claim the pass through SeatGeek when you claim the tickets. The team’s line is blunt: you must have a parking pass to access the lot. Carpool if you can.
Save both to your phone before you leave the house. A screenshot of a ticket does not park the car.
What “getting in” actually looks like
You are going to a practice facility, not Northwest on a Friday night.
Bleacher seating is first-come: one set along the sideline, one in the end zone. Blankets and lawn chairs on the grass are allowed. ADA help is on-site — tell staff when you arrive.
The clear-bag rule is not in effect for camp at Ashburn. Bags are still searchable. Coolers are allowed if they are not full of alcohol; outside food is not. There is a Pepsi food-truck village, a water station (bring a reusable bottle), and a team-store pop-up that takes cards and tap-to-pay, not cash.
Two rules that actually catch people: no professional cameras unless you are credentialed media, and no photos or video during the team portions of practice (7-on-7, 11-on-11, special teams, installs). Staff will tell you when phones are allowed again. Video cameras are not permitted in general. Autographs after practice are possible, not promised.
Rain or shine unless the weather is severe enough that they keep fans off the fields. That is another reason to open the app before you pull out of the driveway.
After these two days
These are the last public looks in Ashburn. The Wednesday, Aug. 26 joint practice against the Ravens is in Owings Mills, and it is not a public camp date.
The next game is Saturday, Aug. 22, noon ET, at the Detroit Lions (Ford Field), on WUSA9 in the Washington market.
Marcus Mariota is out the rest of preseason with a sprained MCL; Dan Quinn has said he is optimistic for the regular-season start — that is the situation desk, not this morning’s story.
If you only open one Sport DMV tab this week besides this one, make it the Commanders page.
