East math, Ashburn restart
Monday Night Football handed Ashburn a clearer rematch. Dallas beat Philadelphia 38-21 — Dak Prescott three touchdown passes, Javonte Williams a career-high 155 rush yards, Cowboys 204 on the ground (AP / NFL.com). The Eagles are 2-5 with Tanner McKee under center and Jalen Hurts already on IR for blood clots. That is the visitor Washington draws Sunday, Nov. 1 at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC at Northwest Stadium.
Dan Quinn’s Tuesday-week message after the bye was a reset, not a restart fantasy. Injury board: Treylon Burks, Marcus Mariota, and Charles Omenihu were due back into practice work; Javon Kinlaw is still slower than hoped (Commanders.com). Quinn also confirmed Steve Wilks is in to help game-plan early in the week with Daronte Jones — “as easy a fit as there could be.” Diggs is “well”; Terry McLaurin’s season-ending absence means more responsibility for the room, including rookie Antonio Williams, not simply a Diggs snap spike.
Washington is 1-4-1. Quinn’s public chase is four quarters of consistent football after living in every game without finishing. Philly’s fifth straight loss softens the rematch optics; it does not erase a Northwest Stadium Sunday night that still decides whether November starts with a pulse in the East.
