Monday Night stakes — Cowboys at Eagles for second in a soft East

Both clubs are 2-4. Philly hosts without Jalen Hurts (IR); Tanner McKee starts. Dallas talks division title; the tape has to catch up on ESPN/ABC.

Second place on national TV

Monday night in South Philly is the NFC East’s clearest measuring stick this week. The Cowboys visit the Eagles — both 2-4 — with the Giants already sitting at 4-2-1 after Sunday’s overtime win in Houston.

Philadelphia is trying to end a four-game losing streak without Jalen Hurts. Hurts is on injured reserve after a diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis and bilateral pulmonary emboli; he is expected to miss the rest of the 2026 season while on blood thinners (NFL.com / Eagles statements). Tanner McKee makes another start. Dallas Cowboys.com’s preview notes McKee’s second straight start in Hurts’ place and flags returning pieces on the Dallas defense (Overshown / Durant) — confirm the final injury report before kick.

Why Commanders fans should care

Washington hosts these Eagles on Nov. 1 (Sunday Night Football). Whoever leaves Lincoln Financial with a win reshapes the short-week rematch narrative six days later. A desperate Philly club that finds a pulse Monday is a different animal than a five-game skid walking into Northwest Stadium. A Cowboys win keeps the East’s middle tier jammed and reminds everyone the division still has no clean alpha besides New York’s record.

CeeDee Lamb spent the week saying Dallas can still win the East. Fair. Prove it against a rival that already owns a Week 1 win over Washington and needs a statement without its franchise quarterback.

Kick: Monday, Oct. 26 — confirm window on ESPN/ABC. We will lock the final when it posts.
