Austin’s 31, Amoore’s free throws — Mystics 105-100 in Portland

The Washington Mystics beat the Portland Fire 105-100 on Sunday, Aug. 23 at Moda Center.

Shakira Austin scored a career-high 31 with 10 rebounds. Washington trailed by 14 in the second quarter, then scored 40 in the fourth. Kiki Iriafen had 18 and 10. Sonia Citron scored 14. Cotie McMahon and Georgia Amoore had 13 each. Amoore’s two free throws with 4.2 seconds left sealed it after a flagrant sequence that let Carla Leite (27 points, 11 assists) cut the Fire to 92-90.
