Nats snap skid 4-3 — Vivas’ eighth-inning double; Angels again at 4:05

The Washington Nationals beat the Los Angeles Angels 4-3 on Friday, Sep. 11 at Nationals Park and snapped a seven-game losing streak.

Mike Trout homered in the first. Washington scratched across a run in the fourth and trailed 2-1 into the eighth. Pinch-hitter Andrew Pinckney tied it with a sacrifice fly; Jorbit Vivas followed with a two-run double into the right-field corner for a 4-2 lead. Clayton Beeter (6-5) earned the win in relief; Erik Tolman recorded his second save after Christian Moore’s RBI double in the ninth nearly left the yard.

Washington is 68-81. Los Angeles is 56-91. CJ Abrams had two hits and scored in the eighth rally.
