Prince William County high school football’s regular season opens Friday, Aug 28. That means tonight’s “preview” slot isn’t a week-1 matchup card yet — it’s the early map for the Woodbridge corridor Sport DMV is covering alongside the Commanders.

Fifteen county programs kick off the same night. Playoffs are set to begin Nov 13. Schedules can still move; treat the openers below as the public slate locals are planning around.

Woodbridge corridor openers (Fri Aug 28, 7 p.m.)

These are the games we’re treating as the soft-launch HS beat:

• Stafford at Woodbridge — defending the Vikings’ status as last fall’s top county side (regional title game run).
• Osbourn Park at Freedom-Woodbridge — Eagles home opener on Neabsco Mills.
