United 0-4 Inter Miami — Suárez brace, Messi brace in South Florida

Suárez 3' and 39', Messi 47' and 60'. Black-and-red still hunting Eastern oxygen after a road blanking.

October 11, 2026

Final — Inter Miami 4, D.C. United 0

South Florida did not offer a soft landing. Luis Suárez buried one in the 3rd minute, added another in the 39th, and Lionel Messi stacked two early in the second half (47th, 60th) as Inter Miami blanked D.C. United 4-0 at Miami Freedom Park.

The pattern was familiar and cruel: early concession, no answer before the break (2-0 at half), then Messi finishing the night before the hour mark. United's bench churned — Matti Peltola and Nathan Ordaz on at 56', Silvan Hefti and Brandon Servania later after Hosei Kijima left with an injury around the 64th minute — but the game was already decided.

What the night costs

This was the loud October road date on the calendar, and it became a scoreboard reminder of the gap. Miami sit near the top of the East; United entered the night still hunting the playoff cut. One night does not end a season in October, but blanking nights like this burn points you do not get back.

Confirm the next kick and Apple TV board on the club site. Decision Day is still Nov. 7 — every Eastern three-point swing from here is louder than a celebrity road trip that went the wrong way.
