Tipoff week — Bucks visit Cap One Wednesday
The 2026-27 NBA season opens for Washington on Wednesday at Capital One Arena: Milwaukee at the Wizards, 7 p.m. Preseason is closed. The club announced an 18-man opening-night roster, including three two-way players, on Monday.
Gallery Place will feel like a home opener again. The first 15,000 fans get a Wizards-branded rally towel courtesy of Capital One, doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the club booked Waka Flocka Flame for the halftime stage. That is the packaging. The basketball question is whether a young Wizards group can hang with a Bucks roster that still expects to win nights in October.
Confirm TV and late scratches on the Wizards board closer to tip. For the DMV calendar, this is the start of a dense Cap One week — Caps tonight, Wizards Wednesday, more basketball Friday against Toronto.
The Wizards page is the hub.
