Gameday eve — Giants at Northwest

The quarterback is back. The receiving room is not whole. That is the honest frame for Sunday, 1 p.m. against the Giants at Northwest Stadium on FOX.

Jayden Daniels is full go after missing Weeks 3 and 4 with the left (non-throwing) elbow — brace on for the rest of the season, no planned limitations per OC David Blough. Dan Quinn said Friday that Stefon Diggs will not play (hamstring). Terry McLaurin is "trending in the right direction" after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday practice — confirm him on the inactive list Sunday morning, not from a midweek vibe.

Why the points matter

Washington is 1-3 and 0-2 in the East after London. New York is 3-1 atop the division with Jameis Winston starting after Jaxson Dart's season-ending knee injury. Malik Nabers was listed as ready by John Harbaugh despite knee soreness midweek. Daniels is 3-0 against the Giants as a starter; that streak is the softest number on the board until somebody ends it.

Rookie Antonio Williams is in the next-man conversation if McLaurin is limited or out. Marcus Mariota (MCL) is already gone for this window — emergency arm is Athan Kaliakmanis. Protection and the short game matter more than hero ball with the brace on and the WR depth thinned.
