Next — Wizards host Nets Monday after OT win over Pistons

Next — Nets at Cap One (Monday)

The Washington Wizards flipped Saturday night into overtime and beat the Detroit Pistons 114-108 at Capital One Arena (desk). The next preseason date is already on the board: Brooklyn Nets, Monday, Oct. 12, 7:00 p.m. ET, same building.

What Saturday proved (and what it didn't)

OT wins in October are tape, not standings. The useful part is who was still upright when the fourth ended tied 98-98 and who took the night in the extra five. Young legs getting closing minutes matters more than the final margin against a Pistons group that will look different in November.
